Tingley is hosting a fundraising day of fun on Saturday, June 28 from 3-9 p.m. All proceeds will go directly toward helping fund the new community building and playground.
This family-friendly event, hosted by the Tingley Betterment Foundation, is offering kids games, a petting zoo and tie-dying station from 3-6 p.m. A bags tournament will also take place from 3-5 p.m., and a silent auction will entice visitors from 3-6:45 p.m.
Hamburgers grilled by the Ringgold County Cattlemen will be served from 5-6:30 p.m. and a live auction starting at 7 p.m. will conclude the evening.
The City of Tingley originally announced the launch of the Tingley Community Building and Playground Replacement Project earlier this spring.
At the May 5 Tingley City Council Meeting, board members approved entering into a contract with Craig Braby Construction to construct the community building.
Hayes Concrete Construction was selected by Braby Construction to prepare the foundation of the building. Weather conditions on Tuesday, June 10 were just right to pour and level concrete at the project site.
The initiative is expected to cost $830,000, with $755,000 allocated towards a new community building and $75,000 for a playground.
The project initially received $489,536.28 in insurance funds and $139,988 in generous donations from community members and supporters.
The Tingley Betterment Foundation is now raising additional funds to help cover any funding gap and other unexpected costs. They anticipate additional needs may be identified as the project is completed.
The Foundation applied for 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, and is anticipating approval in the next few months.
Once approved, all donations will be tax-deductible. Any donations made during our pending status will be retroactively tax-deductible, effective as of the date our application was filed.
As a charitable organization, the Tingley Betterment Foundation is dedicated to empowering the local community by providing resources and supportive network that promotes social well-being and positive change.
The public is invited to help by volunteering, spreading the word, or making donations.
