The Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office recently announced the launch of a new mobile application allowing public access to information regarding county law enforcement.
The application’s interface (shown above) includes a series of buttons to direct users to the information they seek.
Home screen
On the home screen is the first screen users see when they open the application. On this screen uses may do any of the following by clicking on the appropriate button:
• Submit a tip for an ongoing investigation. Crimes in progress should be reported by calling 911;
• Obtain the RCSO phone number, email address, and street address.
• Request a home check;
• Review a list of recent RCSO press releases including arrest reports, sheriff sales, and other information;
• Read information regarding rules of the Ringgold County Jail;
• Search a list of current inmates;
• See a list of convicted sex offenders and a map of where they currently reside in Ringgold County;
• Obtain information regarding opioid and addiction resources;
• Find forms and procedures to obtain a weapons permit;
• Request copies of public records and accident reports;
• Find a form to request a new 911 address;
• Find information about the Iowa State Sheriffs & Deputies Association.
Civil Process
The Civil Process button at the bottom of the home screen reveals information, guidelines, processes, and fees associated with serving and execution of civil writs including domestic violence injunctions, notice of evictions, protective orders, subpoenas, and others.
Resource map
The Resource Map button on the bottom of the page provides street addresses for local governments, schools, medical facilities, and other agencies in the county.
Alerts and notifications
The Alerts and Notifications button on the bottom of the screen provides weather alerts as well as announcements and updates of other important events. A list of recent notifications can also be found on the home screen.
In an announcement regarding the launch of the application, the RCSO provided a summary of its usefulness:
“The Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office mobile application is an interactive app which will help improve our communication with the citizens of Ringgold County, IA and surrounding area. The purpose of this app is to improve our ability to communicate with our citizens … By empowering people through technology, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office will be able to better protect our community.”
The application may be downloaded by searching for “Ringgold County Sheriff, IA” in either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store
