LENOX, Iowa — The Raiders collected a pair of event wins and placed fourth at the annual Lenox Tiger co-ed meet last Monday.
The Raiders were 11 points out of a top-3 team finish, placing fourth with 86 points. Other Pride of Iowa Conference schools at the meet were Lenox, SW Valley and East Union.
The Raiders won the 3,200-meter run and 4×400-meter relay events. Mount Ayr will run at Van Meter on Thursday. The Pride of Iowa Conference meet is May 4 in Corning.
Mount Ayr got one win in the individual events by winning the 3,200-meter run. Braylon Greenwell won the event with a top time of 12:27.46.
The other win for Mount Ayr came from their 4×400-meter relay team. The team of Bryson Martin, Jackson Ruggles, Calvin Main and Drayden Thompson won in a time of 3:36.59.
A pair of Raider relays were runners-up with Mount Ayr’s 4×100-meter relay team of Thompson, Isac Dugan, Ruggles, and Tate Dugan in 44.87; and the Raiders 4×800-meter relay team of Martin, Nathan Roemer, Weston Adams and Greenwell in a time of 9:24.10.
In field events, Mount Ayr’s top finish was a runner-up finish in the shot put by Rowan Sackett with a best throw of 46-feet, 2 inches. Kellon Shaffer also added a top-10 finish in the discus with a best throw of 103-feet, 1-inch.
Isac Dugan and Manny Hyde went fourth and fifth respectively in the 100-meter dash in 11.56 and 11.69. Martin placed seventh in the 200-meter dash in 24.47 and Adams was eighth in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.30 and eighth in the 800-meter run in 2:34.63.  Greenwell added a fifth place finish in the 1,600-meter run in 5:16.21. Main also had a pair of top-10 finishes, placing third in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:04.17, and placing sixth in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.26.
