MOUNT AYR, Iowa — The Mount Ayr boy’s golf team finished second at its home course last Tuesday. The Raiders hosted four other Pride of Iowa Conference teams at the event in a mini-preview of the Conference meet next month.
The Raiders were just three-strokes back from meet champion East Union. Mount Ayr scored 161 points while East Union had a team score of 158. Mount Ayr’s Tanner Streit was the runner-up medalist at the meet with a score of 38. East Union’s Zayne Eslinger was the medalist with a score of 33.
Other team placings were Martensdale St. Marys third, Wayne fourth and SE Warren fifth. Slade White led the Blue Devils with a score of 38. Ruger Berndt led Wayne with a score of 39, and Isaac Dirkx led SE Warren with a score of 46.
Mount Ayr was the only team at the meet that had all of their scores under a score of 44. Other Mount Ayr scores were Jaxsen Greene 40, Avery Wolfe 41, Tytan Gourley 42, Drew Graham 43 and Nathan Rusk 43.
Other East Union Scores were Slade Turner 41, Kyson Kessler & Bryce Pettit 42, Brock Jones 48, and Coltyn Kelley 54.
