Raiders hold off Lenox at Chet Roed Relays

MOUNT AYR, Iowa — The team race at the annual Chet Roed Relays last Tuesday came down to a pair of Pride of Iowa Conference teams. The host Raiders were able to hang on and win the meet with 105 points to runner-up Lenox’s 99 points, while Creston was third with 95 points. The meet was the first of two for Mount Ayr last week.
The Raiders were led by three event wins, the 400-meter dash, the 4×400-meter relay and the 110-meter hurdles.
Calvin Main won the 110-meter hurdles in 15.91 and added a sixth place finish in the 200-meter dash in 23.70.
Drayden Thompson won the 400-meter dash in a time of 52.62. The Raiders 4×400-meter relay team of Manny Hyde, Jackson Ruggles, Main and Thompson won in a time of 3:39.24.
Mount Ayr had runner-up finishes from three relays. The Raiders were second in the 4×100-meter relay, shuttle hurdle relay and 4×800-meter relay.
The Raiders 4×100-meter relay team of Bryson Martin, Isac Dugan, Hyde and Tate Dugan was the runner-up in a time of 45.77. Mount Ayr’s shuttle hurdle relay team of Ruggles, Tate Dugan, Michael Adkisson and Main were second in a time of 1:04.68. The Raiders also finished second in the 4×800-meter relay event with the team of Martin, Winston Adams, Nick Roemer and Braylon Greenwell in a time of 9:14.41.
