MOUNT AYR, Iowa — The Mount Ayr and Diagonal boy’s golf teams found out late last week where they will be playing their postseason golf meets. The Iowa High School Athletic Association released 2026 sectional and district meet assignments last week. Sectional meets will be Wednesday, May 13 and district meets will be on Monday, May 18.
Team and individual qualifiers from these meets advance to the 2026 IHSAA Spring Golf Championships, set for May 26-27. Class 3A and Class 2A will play their state meets in Waterloo, and Class 1A will compete in Newton.
The top three teams from each sectional and district site will qualify for the next round, as well as the top two overall individual players (plus ties) from each site’s non-qualifying teams.
Spectator access to sectional and district meets is free from the IHSAA.
Both Mount Ayr and Diagonal will open sectional play at Mount Ayr at 10 a.m. at the Mount Ayr Country Club. Other teams there are East Union, Lamoni, Moravia, Mormon Trail and Wayne. The district meet is scheduled for Oskalossa at 10 a.m. on May 18.
