Richard Dwayne Saville December 2, 1937 – January 9, 2010

Richard Dwayne Saville, son of John William and Ethel Louise (Ferris) Saville, was born December 2, 1937 at Blue Rapids, Kansas.

Richard served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 until 1969. Richard married Lucy Long and to this marriage two children were born; Richard, Jr. and Cyndi. On August 17, 1968, Richard married Kerry Kathleen Kilgore in Las Vegas, Nevada. To this marriage was born David Allen, Kathleen Kristina and Margaret Annette.

Richard was a cook and cooking is what he did a lot of the time. Richard and Kerry moved back to Clearfield in 1980 and operated a donut shop in 1981. Richard had worked at Windrow Restaurant in Creston and was currently working the snack bar at Southwestern Community College in Creston. In addition to his love of cooking, Richard enjoyed woodworking and liked to read western novels.

Richard died suddenly at his home in Clearfield on January 9, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law George Kilgore; and a sister-in-law Margaret Kilgore.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Kerry of Clearfield; children David Saville of Lenox, Iowa, Kathy Valenzuela and husband Junior of Lenox, Margaret Climie and husband Jason of Vineland, New Jersey, Richard Saville, Jr. of California, and Cyndi Pfister and husband Richard of Las Vegas, Nevada; 16 grandchildren; brothers, John Saville and Ron Saville of Oregon; sisters Sandra Corda and husband Jerry of Oregon, Cheryl Miller and husband Dan of Oregon, Tammy Chatfield and husband Dan of Keyser, Oregon, Sue Vasquez and husband Jesus of Oregon, Marcy Valdez and husband Rick of Oregon and Teresa Heynes of Oregon; his mother-in-law, Clara Kilgore of Clearfield; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Clearfield with burial in the Saville Cemetery at Blue Rapids, Kansas.
