POI Meet
The Raiderettes were unable to secure back-to-back POI championships Monday night after being nudged out of the meet win by Nodaway Valley. The Lady Wolverines finished with 131 points to Mount Ayr’s 114.
Addy Reynolds saw her usual 100 meter dash win with a time of 13.17 and the Raiderette team of Ryann Martin, Gabby Hunke, Sam Stewart and Payten Lambert took a relay win in the 4×400 with a time of 4:28.37. The Raiderettes were unable to take first in any other event Monday night but had multiple second place finishes to help then stay ahead of Central Decatur in the runnings, who finished the meet in third with 110.5 points.
Lady Charger Relays
The Raiderettes traveled to Chariton to compete in the Lady Charger Relays last week on a night that finally had low winds and decent temperature.
The team won with 192 points to runner-up Wayne’s 145.
There were several season best performances. The 4 x 200 relay team of Lambert, Martin, Klommhaus, and Reynolds won gold in a time of 1:52.05 placing them currently 10th in class 2A. The 4×100 relay team of Sjoberg, Klommhaus, Knight, and Reynolds also won gold in a season best time of 53.35. Running season best times and winning gold were the 4 x 400 relay team of Ryann Martin, Maddie Stewart, Gabby Hunke and Payten Lambert, and the 1600 m Medley team of Hayley Whittington, Tiril Sjøberg, Gabby Hunke and MaKayla Jones.
Also placing first was the 4×800 team of Rachel Gregg, Karter Edwards, Gabby Hunke and Olivia West. In the individual events, Senior MacKenzie Shields placed first clearing 5-0 for her season best jump and Avery Dickerson placed 2nd with a season best of 4-8. Addy Reynolds had another great night winning two individual events in the 100 and 200 meter dash.
Van Meter Coed
Last night the Raiderettes traveled to Van Meter for the Dave Tapps Coed track meet. It was a beautiful night to run and the Raiderettes competed well placing second to Van Meter 148 to 134. The field events got them off to a great start with Hannah Jackson and Hope Whittington placing 4th and 2nd respectively in the shot put. Hope set a new personal record of 31’ 1.5”. In the discus, Hope Whittington and Gracie Mobley placed 4th and 2nd respectively. In the jumps, Ryann Martin and Payten Lambert placed 3rd and 4th respectively. MacKenzie Shields and Avery Dickerson were 2nd and 8th in the high jump. In the running events the 4 x100, 4 x 200, 4 x 400, and 4 x 800 relays all ran season best times. The 4×200 team of Lambert, Klommhaus, Martin, and Reynolds placed first in a time of 1:49.31 placing them 3rd on the All-time Raiderette list in that event and currently 3rd best time in class 2A. The 4 x 100 team of Sjoberg, Klommhaus, Knight, and Reynolds also won and made 3rd all time best in that event with a time of 52.91. The 4 x 800 team of Gregg, Hunke, West, and Jones lowered their season best by 13 seconds and placed 3rd. The 4 x 400 team of Martin, S. Stewart, Hunke, and Lambert shaved off 5 seconds from their season best placing 3rd.
