Raiders win at rain-soaked Nodaway Valley

The Raiders took the gold last Thursday at the Southwest Valley Invite with a score of 118 points, beating out CAM who had 91.
The Raiders saw plenty of first place finishes in the meet to help them return home with the win.
Hunter Arends sped to first place in the 100 meter dash in a time of 11.83 as well as the 200 meter dash in a time of 23.64.
Payton Weehler was second to Arends in a time of 23.90.
Adler Shay was able to come home with a gold in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:12.39.
Chase Henry saw himself first in the shot put, with a throw of 47-02.5.
The Raider 4×400 team of Ryker Hickman, Adler Shay, Austin Cole and Hunter Arends finished in a time of 3:42.81 to take the gold, and the 4×800 team of Chase Smith, Trae Ehlen, Nathan Hauge and Isaac Timmerman took first with a time of 8:34.81 to round out the first place finishes for the Raiders.
Arends was the leading scorer for the Raiders, scoring 22.5 individual points, followed by Dawson Frost who scored 14 total.
Nodaway Valley
The Raiders took another meet win in Nodaway Valley Monday night, despite a cold wind and rain coming down.
Isaac Timmerman was able to come away with a first place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:10.26.
The Raider 4×200 team of Payton Weehler, Hunter Haveman, Connor Eaton and Hunter Arends took first place with a time of 1:33.54.
In the 4×400 relay, Mount Ayr’s Austin Cole, Ryker Hickman, Erik Trujillo and Nathan Hauge ran to a first place finish with a 3:50.38 time.
The 4×800 team of Chase Smith, Nathan Hauge, Trae Ehlen and Isaac Timmerman saw a first place finish, defeating the second place team by over 15 seconds, with a time of 8:45.92.
The 800 meter sprint medley relay team of Connor Eaton, Seth Shelman, Hunter Haveman and Hunter Arends also saw a first place finish with a time of 1:39.35.
The Raiders will head to Panora on Thursday, May 9 for the state track qualifying meet which will begin at 4 p.m.
