“The girls played really good softball this week. They are really hitting the ball well and some are truly stepping into their roles as leaders,” said coach Tess Rinehart. “We are still learning a lot as we have a lot of younger athletes playing on the team, but the girls are treating each day as a learning opportunity. It is fun to watch them get better each day. Their record does not show what kind of ball team they are as we have lost a lot of games by one point.”

“We have had an opportunity to really build the Mount Ayr softball program as a whole this week. Zoey Larsen joined the team for a few games and provided the team with a different outlook. This allowed Janna to pitch for the B team a few times and allowed for other girls to play other positions,” said coach Rinehart. “The girls learned to adapt quickly to change and they did such a great job buying into Raiderette softball program this week. The girls were able to learn a lot about situational softball and build mental toughness. We are so lucky to have the two high school coaches so involved in our middle school program. This has been a great learning week for the team. Not to mention, we played the best softball that we have played all year. It was a really fun week to be apart of.”
