The Mount Ayr Raiders will host the Central Decatur Cardinals on Friday night at 7 p.m.
The Raiders are coming off a 3-0 win over the Interstate 35 Roadrunners, while the Cardinals (1-2) are coming off their first win of the season against Southwest Valley, outscoring the Timberwolves 42-22.
In what will be the 75th meeting between the two teams, the Raiders look to increase their all-time series lead of 48-23-3.
Co-coaches Delwyn Showalter and Derek Lambert are 8-4 against Central Decatur.
History
The two teams first met in 1923 with Leon claiming a 6-0 win. Mount Ayr would not defeat the Cardinals until 1929 where the Raiders blanked the Cardinals 26-0 just a few weeks before the stock market crash that brought in the Great Depression.
Last year, the Raiders defeated the Cardinals 20-12 at Flockhart Field in Leon. Previously, Mount Ayr had not defeated Central Decatur since 2013, when they won 34-13.
