Isaac Timmerman placed 38th in his final cross country appearance as a Raider on Saturday in Fort Dodge at the State Cross Country Meet. Timmerman finished in a time of 17:30
Taking the top spot for the first boys cross country championship in school history was Josh Baudler, with a time of 16:11.
Timmerman has been a big partof the Raider cross country team in his time at Mount Ayr, constantly leading the pack and fighting to get better each and every week, improving times almost every time he sets foot on a course.
Timmerman is set to graduate this May and has enlisted with the Navy in hopes of being a U.S. Navy Seal.
Congratulations to Timmerman on his Raider career and good luck moving forward in his future endeavors.
Timmerman isn’t finished running, though. He plans to travel to Witchita, Kansas on Saturday, November 9 to compete in an ultrathon with his mother, Cortney Wilson.
What is an Ultrathon? It is a running event that takes place on a loop course. Runners can enter the six, 12 or 24 hour races and the participant will see how many miles they can run.
Timmerman mentioned he was hoping to run in the 35 miles range during the ultrathon.
We hope to catch-up with Timmerman and his mom after the event to talk to them about their experiences.
