Mount Ayr fell out of the rankings last week after a shocking loss to the Nodaway Valley Wolverines.
The Raiderettes and Wolverines were neck and neck in the beginning, with Nodaway Valley slowly pulling away throughout the night.
Sam Stewart led the Raiderettes in scoring with 23 points, however, it wasn’t enough to overcome the Wolverine attack.
The Wolverines had 11 steals while the Raiderettes who only had six.
The Wolverines were led by Maddax DeVault who had 15 points.
The Raiderettes shot 16-of-46 from the field, while Nodaway Valley shot 24-of-44.
“I knew this was going ing to be a close game compared to the last game with Nodaway Valley,” said coach Thad Streit. “They shot horrible up there and we shot great. Tonight it was the opposite. We were not very sharp tonight, we panicked and rushed shots in our offense. We will watch this film and be better from it.”

Mount Ayr bounced back from their loss to Nodaway Valley with a win over the Bedford Bulldogs.
Sam Stewart and Rachel Sobotka led the Raiderettes with 18 and 14 points, respectively.
Sobotka recorded nine rebounds on the night to lead the Mount Ayr girls.
“We got off to a slow start and lost their shooters,” said coach Streit. “Once we identified them, I thought we played pretty good defense and did a nice job at the end of the game.”
The Raiderettes were trailing headed into halftime, but a 23 point third quarter saw the Raiderettes take the lead.
The fourth was all defense, however, with the Raiderettes only allowing three points, while the Raiderettes only scored five.
