The Raiders finished out their season 21-3 following a loss to Martensdale-St. Mary’s at substate.
Despite falling short of a State Tournament bid, the Raiders put up impressive numbers throughout the season, along with a few individual records being set.
The team was led by senior Dawson Frost who joined the 1,000 point club as well as becoming the current All-Time leading scorer for the Raiders with 1,144 points this season.
Frost also led the team in rebounds with 168 total and was second in steals with 43, second in assists with 70 and second in blocks with 3.
Payton Weehler led the team in assists with 70 and steals with 46 and also was the second leading scorer on the Raider squad, scoring 274 points.
Cole Clymer protected the hoop, blocking 35 shots and grabbing 100 rebounds throughout the season. Clymer scored 118 points as well.
The Raiders gave up the ball 147 times, while stealing the ball on 219 occasions.
As a whole, the Raiders shot 46.3 percent from the field and were successful on 41.9 percent of three’s and 69.1 percent from the charity line.
Averaging 66 points per game, the Raiders scored the majority of their points in the 1st quarter, scoring 410 of their 1,584 points in the first eight minutes.
The Raiders averaged 30.3 rebounds per game and saw 533 defensive rebounds in comparison to their 194 offensive boards.
Mount Ayr outscored their opponents by 17.7 points per game on average and only allowed 1,139 points.
The Raiders will graduate nine seniors this season, five of which were the starting five.
Cayden Lambert, Isaac Grose, Dawson Frost, Dalton Elwood, Cole Clymer, Kolben Klommhaus, Austin Greenland, Zach Doster and Jordan McAlexander will graduate this May.
