RAYMOND LEROY RUSH

Raymond LeRoy Rush, son of Clyde Rush and Ava (Bagley) Rush was born October 24, 1926 in Ringgold County, IA and passed from this life Friday, September 4, 2020 at his home near St. Charles, IA at 93 years of age.
Raymond grew up in the Mount Ayr area. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Raymond was united in marriage to Alice Louetta Vanderflught on October 7, 1947 in Harrison, AR. Raymond worked in Des Moines for Odea Chevrolet and Crescent Chevrolet in the parts department for many years. Raymond and Alice lived in Ankeny, IA prior to moving to their farm near St. Charles, IA, 58 years ago. Raymond enjoyed farming and being outdoors. He spent free time doing woodworking. He was a Christian man and attended the Trinity Christian Church near Decatur City, IA.
Those relatives who preceded Raymond in death were his parents, Clyde and Ava Rush, and brother, Lewis Rush, and his wife, Dorothy, of St. Joseph, MO, brothers-in-law, Russell and Donald Vanderflught, both of Grand River, IA, LeRoy and Phyllis Vanderflught of St. Charles, IA.
Raymond leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 72 years, Alice Rush, of Saint Charles, IA, sister-in-law, Juanita Mills, of Van Wert, IA, sister-in-law, Hazel Vanderflught, of Grand River, IA, sister-in-law, Lena Vanderflught, of Grand River, IA, many nieces, nephews and family friends.
Funeral services were held at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Wednesday September 9, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Terry Roberts officiating.
Visitation was open at Noon on Tuesday with his family present to visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., September 8, 2020 at Kale Funeral Home.
The family and funeral home asks that anyone in attendance at the visitation or funeral service please follow social distancing guidelines. The use of face coverings is required. If you are unable to attend the service in person, a live stream will be available at www.kalefuneralhome.com on Raymond tribute wall beginning at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday.
Interment will follow services in the Westerville Cemetery in Decatur County, near Grand River, IA.
