The Raiderettes traveled to Milo ion Friday where they dropped another contest to the Southeast Warren Warhawks after six innings.
The Raiderettes recorded four hits against the Warhawks with Payten Lambert, Halsie Barnes, Alexa Anderson and Channler Henle all getting base hits.
The Raiderettes reached base twice on walks and one hit-by-pitch.
The defense committed two errors on the night while recording five assists and 17 putouts on 24 total chances.
Zoey Larsen received the loss on the night in the circle, pitching three innings, allowing five runs on five hits and three earned runs.
Addy Reynolds pitched the next three innings and allowed five runs on five hits, three runs which were earned.
“Sometimes you have an engine and sometimes it just doesn’t turn over and we just can’t get it to turn over. Any momentum we get we stall,” said coach Ruggles. “She pitched a gem, but I am sick of saying she pitched a gem against us, it seems like everyone is pitching a gem against us. Our defense didn’t let us down, but in crucial points we didn’t quite make the play we needed to.”

Griswold 4,
Mt. Ayr 2
Griswold faced Tri-Center earlier in the day, getting the win to face the Raiderettes in the tournament championship.
Griswold put up two runs in the first before Mount Ayr tied it up with a run in each the fourth and fifth innings.
The time limit came in the sixth inning, forcing inning seven to play with the international rule.
The international rule puts the last batter to get out on second to run and your next batter at the plate.
Griswold started the seventh and was able to score two runs after a wild throw on a bunt sent the first runner across and put the batter on. A groundout and another wild throw sent the second runner through.
The Raiderettes recorded a strike to get out of the inning.
The Raiderettes got their shot with Alexa Anderson on second.
Channler Henle laid down a bunt to move Anderson to third, but Griswold was able to get the next three outs and end with the tournament championship.
The Raiderettes recorded two runs off five hits and walked three times. Zoey Larsen was in the circle for the Raiderettes and received the loss after pitching two and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs off three hits and one strikeout.
Addy Reynolds came in to relieve. She pitched five innings, allowing two runs off two hits, walking one and striking out three.
The Raiderettes are now 9-11 on the season. The Raiderettes face Southwest Valley tonight, June 24, before facing Martensdale-St. Mary’s on Friday.
“It’s frustrating because we can make the play, I know we can,” said coach Ruggles about the wild throw that put Griswold ahead. “It’s time for them to start to know they can. That’s not the only play, but it just seems like we are snake bitten by a bad luck charm right now and it keeps happening.”
“There’s things that we are building on, but unfortunately we are running out of time,” said coach Ruggles.
