Raiderettes trying to regroup after recent losses

The Raiderettes suffered a tough loss to the Clarinda Cardinals last Thursday night at home.
In the first set, the Raiderettes fell 25-19 before the second set saw the Raiderettes struggle to string together points to close the deficit against a disciplined Cardinal team.
The third set saw the Raiderettes battle to the end, however ultimately falling 26-24.
Throughout the game, the Raiderettes recorded 21 assists and 24 assists on 89 attempts.
Hayden Ruggles and Kaylie Shields combined for all 21 assists with Ruggles leading the team with 11 and Shields with 10.
Addy Reynolds led the team with seven kills, while Payten Lambert recorded five.
On the defensive side of the net, the Raiderettes recorded three blocks, led by Tegan Streit with two.
Maddie Stewart led the team with 16 digs and Reynolds recorded 12.
From the line, the Raiderettes were 56-for-61 with three aces.
Shields, Reynolds and Stewart each had one ace.
“We had too many hitting errors tonight,: said coach Kristen Graham. “Tomorrow morning we are going to focus on that and get them ready for Saturday out of the shoot.”
The message to the team, though, was don’t hang your heads.
“The first set and third set were good volleyball,” said coach Graham. “The second set, I felt like we gave up and our energy level dropped and they needed those hits they missed.”
Bedford
Tournament
The Raiderettes traveled to Bedford on Saturday for a tournament.
The Mount Ayr squad defeated the Bulldogs 2-1, but fell to Sidney, 2-0 after sets of 21-10 and 21-16.
Against the Sidney Cowgirls, the Raiderettes fell 2-0, 21-10 and 21-16.
The Raiderettes faced Lamoni in the tournament, as well and fell 21-11 and 21-7.
The Raiderettes are 8-6 on the season.
