Last season, Lenox took their first win over the Raiderettes in 16 games, dating all the way back to 2012.
The Tigers now have two in a row with the Tigers heading to Mount Ayr on January 18 for a rematch.
Mount Ayr and Lenox battled in the first quarter and kept the contest close with Lenox edging out Mount Ayr 13-10 after the first eight minutes.
In the second, the Tigers found plenty points at the hoop, scoring 19, while allowing 10 to the Raiderettes to head into halftime leading 32-20.
In the second-half the Raiderettes tried to rally, but failed to score freethrows and to keep the Tigers off the board.
“We didn’t get off to a good start defensively,” said coach Thad Streit. “We just didn’t guard well or rebound well. We still need to find the right combination that can score as well as defend.”
The Raiderettes were 10-of-20 at the line with Tegan Streit making six-of-14 and Halsie Barnes good on three-of-four.
Streit led the team in points with 16, while Jill Kniep was seven-of-15 from the field and one-for-two from the line for 15 point total.
Breya Nickle found rhythm in her time on the floor, good for four-of-five including one three pointer.
The Raiderettes had 19 turnovers in the loss.
The Tigers were led by freshman Zoey Reed who was five-for-five with one three and was 13-of-16 at the line, good for 24 points.
The Tigers turned the ball over 20 times, but saw 10 blocks on the night along with 10 steals.
