The Mount Ayr Raider and Raiderette bowling teams are set to get underway, with the first competition coming Monday, November 21 against Lamoni and Southeast Warren in Mount Ayr at 4 p.m.
The teams are entering their second season under head coach Brent Wise, who spent two years as a volunteer assistant coach before taking the helm last season.
Eric Dolecheck and Deb Reed are assisting coach Wise.
Last season, the Raiders finished 3-3 and the Raiderettes ended the season at 4-2.
“The boys have more experience returning so I do believe we will be improved and more competitive,” said coach Wise. “The girls have more work to do as not as much experience, they should be fine, we have a great group of kids to work with this year.”
The Raiders return sophomores Dylan Swank, Ethan Johns, Nick Roemer, Willie Baker and Jayden Levy, with junior Jared Larsen and freshman Mitchell Jackson joining as well.
The Raiderettes bring in junior Katrina Gogel, sophomores Aubrey Reed and Chaddlan Supinger and freshmen Ayla Murphy and Harper Whittington.
“I am excited to get this season underway,” said coach Wise. “It will be awesome to watch the kids grow in confidence and abilities as the season moves forward.”
