School registration approaching
Diagonal and Mount Ayr Community Schools are already preparing for the 2024-2025 school year.
The open enrollment deadline was changed to June 30, 2024 by The State of Iowa during the 2024 Legislative Session. The deadline for the 2025-2026 school year and all future years is March 1.
While open enrollment has already passed for the 2024-2025 school year, school registration is just around the corner.
Mount Ayr Schools
Mount Ayr Community Schools is planning to offer online registration again this year, beginning Monday, July 29. An in-person registration help day will also be held on Monday, August 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Parents are asked to have their PowerSchool login information readily available. Please access your login details prior to registration to ensure a seamless experience.
Enrollment for Junior Raiders before and after school care has also moved online this year. A registration form needs to be completed for each child that needs care. Junior Raiders enrollment is requested by August 23rd.
The morning program starts as early as 6:45 a.m. and the after school program is available until 5:15. Arrangements should be made to pick up your child by 5:20 p.m. Payment – Fees are due at the time of enrollment, and can now be made online through RevTrak.
Cash or check is also accepted, and checks should be made payable to Jr Raiders.

Diagonal Schools
Diagonal Community School is beginning the 2024-2025 school year with administrative changes.
Diagonal Superintendent Larry McNutt will serve as Preschool Principal and Gary Clark is taking on a larger role as Principal for Kindergarten-12 grade.
New administrative assistant, Jaela Cox, will greet students and staff in the office beginning August 6, the day after in person registration.
Registration information, including links and forms for the 24-25 school year, can be found on the school website and the official school facebook page.
Parents and guardians are asked to print off and fill out a new or returning student K-12 enrollment packet or PK enrollment packet along with other registration documents and return them to Diagonal School.
Students can also be registered in person on August 5 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Diagonal school. Completed forms may be sent by email to gclark@diagonalschools.org
