The City of Tingley recently announced the launch of the Tingley Community Building and Playground Replacement Project, a major investment in rebuilding town infrastructure. The initiative is projected to cost $830,000, with $755,000 allocated towards a new community building and $75,000 for a playground. The new community building will serve as a vital space for events, meetings, and gatherings, while the playground will provide a safe and fun environment for local children and families.
The project initially received $489,536.28 in insurance funds and $139,988 in generous donations from community members and supporters.
The Tingley Betterment Foundation has set a fundraising goal of $500,000 to help cover the cost of building contents, landscaping around the project site, and other unexpected costs. They are also anticipated additional needs may be identified as they complete the project.
A community-wide fundraiser has been planned for Saturday, June 28. This family-friendly event, hosted by the Tingley Betterment Foundation, will offer food, kids activities, a bags tournament, as well as a live and silent auction.
All proceeds will go directly toward funding the community building and playground.

Macy Jarred provided these playground concepts for a project which will also include building a new community center to replace the one lost to a tornado last year.
“This project is not just about bricks and mortar,” said Donetta Phelps, Foundation Spokesperson. “It’s about creating a space that brings people together, supports our families, and enhances the quality of life in Tingley for generations to come.”
The Tingley Betterment Foundation announced their official organization on January 6 of this year, sharing that the group was applying for 501(c)(3) status with the IRS. Once approved, all donations will be tax-deductible. Any donations made during our pending status will be retroactively tax-deductible, effective as of the date our application was filed.
As a charitable organization, the Tingley Betterment Foundation is dedicated to empowering the local community by providing resources and supportive network that promotes social well-being and positive change.
The public is invited to help by volunteering, spreading the word, or making donations.
