Fair weather drew a content crowd to the Tingley Ice Cream Social last Sunday.
The Ringgold County Cattlemen’s Association grilled burgers and served them with chips and a drink, and ice cream samples were enjoyed along with a slice of pie after the winners of each contest were announced.
The Tingley vanilla ice cream contest winners included Brian Wimer who received first place, Tony Mercer in second place, and Christiana Overholtzer in third place.
In the anything goes category, Becky Johnson placed first with her lemon ice cream, and second place was awarded to Tony Mercer for his red raspberry ice cream.
Erin Overholtzer was awarded third place for her lemon ice cream.
Tingley 1-crust pie winners included Sherry Rice with her first place Dutch apple pie, and Deb Derscheid with her second place coconut cream pie.
Cathy McGahuey placed third with her peanut butter pie, and Janet Wasteney received fourth place for her macaroon pie.
In the 2-crust category, Nancy Jarred was awarded first place for her raspberry peach pie, and fourth place for a pineapple rhubarb pie.
Wendy Creveling received second place with her caramel apple pie.
Melinda Weeda was awarded third place for her Cherry pie.
