Going into the first ever Mount Ayr Girls dual in Mount Ayr — the girls were loose and had a great attitude. With there being a full schedule of middle school boys and girls, and High school boys traveling, I was worried that the wrestling community was too spread out and the crowd might be thin. Man was I wrong! I am extremely proud of the team and the community last night! In typical girls wrestling fashion- there were tough battles that could have went either way. The crowd was loud and rewarded every match with applause and cheer. As a coach I was focused on creating matches and making sure every girl had a chance to be a part of the history and I feel like we made that happen. A minor adjustment on the lineup and we could have had a victory over EU, but I’ll take it. I’d like to thank everyone for their part in the meet!
