The second meet of the week for the Mount Ayr Raider boys track team saw them run at the Creston Panther boys relays. Glenwood won the meet followed by Creston in second and Southwest Valley in third.
The Raiders did well in their relays, placing runner-up in three relays. The shuttle hurdle relay team of Manny Hyde, Jackson Ruggles, Tate Dugan and Calvin Main were second in a time of 1:07.69. The Raiders were second in the 4×200-meter relay with the team of Drayden Thompson, Dugan, Hyde, and Ruggles in a time of 1:34.28. The last runner-up relay finish as runner-up was their 4×400-meter relay with the team of Bryson Martin, Nathan Stewart, Main and Michael Adkisson in 3:52.60.
The Raiders sprint medley relay team of Nathan Roemer, Weston Adams, Martin and Adkisson placed third in 1:47.11. The Raiders also placed third in the 4×100-meter relay with the team of Thompson, Dugan, Hyde and Ruggles in the time of 45.01.
The Raiders top finish in the field events was a 6th-place-finish from Kellon Shaffer with a top throw of 118-feet, 6-inches in the discus. The Raiders added fourth place finishes from their distance medley relay team as well as 4th place finishes from Main in the 110-meter hurdles and Martin in the 800-meter run.
Lenox Co-ed
The Mount Ayr boys track and field team placed seventh at the Lenox Co-Ed last Tuesday with 18 points. The top-3 finishing teams were CAM winning the meet, followed by Lenox and Lamoni. The meet was the first of two for Mount Ayr last week.
The Raiders did very well in the 100-meter dash placing four in the top-10. Drayden Thompson placed third in 11.54, Jackson Ruggles placed fourth in 11.66 and Tate Dugan placed fifth in 11.72. Manny Hyde also placed seventh in 12.00.
The other high finish for Mount Ayr was their 4×100-meter relay team. The relay would take the runner-up spot in a time of 45.16.
