GREENFIELD, Iowa — The Mount Ayr volleyball team had a light week of action with only one match on the schedule last week. The Raiderettes traveled to Greenfield to play Nodaway Valley last Tuesday and lost a close match. The result was a 3-2 loss in five sets.
Mount Ayr’s record sits at 3-13 overall and its Pride of Iowa Conference record slipped to 2-2. Nodaway Valley improved to 4-14 overall and the win was their first POI win of the year.
Mount Ayr came into the match winners of the last three matches between the schools going back to September of 2022. Prior to that, the Wolverines had won six straight. Since 2008, Mount Ayr leads the series 18-12.
Mount Ayr was in action twice this week, at POI leading Southwest Valley on Tuesday (results were not available as of press time), On Saturday the Raiderettes will head to the Riverside volleyball tournament in Oakland. Teams at the tournament are Woodward-Granger, Riverside, West Monona and Fremont-Mills.
