Catherine E. Williams Poore
Catherine E. Williams Poore was born on February 6, 1846 in Stark County, OH., and moved with her parents in early childhood to Illinois, where she grew to young womanhood, later moving with her parents to the state of Missouri on August 15, 1869.
She was united in marriage to D.W. Poore at Allendale, MO. To this union were born five children: Mrs. Lillie Clark, Mrs. Anna Jackson and Roscoe W. Poore all of Grand Island, NE.; Mrs. Edith Mader and Stanley C. Poore of Greenleaf, ID., who with her devoted husband are left to mourn her loss. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. G.W. Adair, of Redding, IA., eighteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, as also a number of other relatives.
She united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in early life, remaining faithful to the same until the time of her death. On Thursday, May 23, at 1:15 a.m. she departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Mader at Greenleaf, ID. The remains were brought to this city and funeral services were held May 27 at 2 p.m. from the Trinity M.E. Church, the Rev. J.R. Martin officiating. Interment was made in the Grand Island Cemetery.
