Obituary – Roger Eugene Miller
Roger Eugene Miller, 67, of Iowa Falls, IA, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 13, 2026, at MercyOne Medical Center in Waterloo, IA. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 13, 2026, from 12-3 at the Moose Lodge, 11350 US 65, Iowa Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his name. A recipient will be determined later.
Edith and Raymond Miller welcomed Roger into their family on October 16, 1958, in Spencer, Iowa. Roger and his family lived near Spencer on a farm until Roger was 8. At that time, they moved to a farm near Mount Ayr, Iowa, where he attended Mount Ayr Community Schools. Roger enjoyed taking agricultural classes, FFA, playing basketball and hunting. He graduated from Mount Ayr Community Schools in May of 1977.
On August 22, 1981, Roger married Julie Utsler of Mount Ayr. They were blessed with two children, Jennifer and Travis.
Roger spent his life working in agriculture-related occupations. He spent several years farming and raising cattle and hogs. He eventually moved to northern Iowa where he worked in agriculture-related construction and continued to raise a few steers.
Roger loved to joke and clown around. This was pointed out by his high school classmates when t. hey voted him Class Clown for the Senior Class of 1977. He also loved living on the acreage south of Iowa Falls for over 20 years. His neighbors knew they could count on him to help with chores, bale hay, or whatever job they needed help with.
Roger is survived by his significant other Becky Statler, of Iowa Falls, IA; daughter, Jennifer Miller, of Lucas, IA; son, Travis Miller, of Norwalk, IA; older sister, Marcia (Louis) Caddell of Fairfield, VA; twin sister Rhonda (Brad) Ross of Indianola, IA; nephew, Phillip Peters and family of Raytown, MO; niece, Jessica Ross of West Des Moines, IA; niece, Val (Justin) Brand of Indianola, IA; great-nieces Keathyn, Kynzlee, and Kynnedi Brand of Indianola, IA and great-nephew, Kyler Brand of Indianola, IA.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Edith Miller of Kellerton, Iowa, grandparents and several aunts and uncles
