Albert M. Creveling

Albert M. Creveling was born at Lamoni, Iowa, January 17, 1863, where he grew to manhood and was married to Miss Mille Camett, March 13, 1884.  To this union were born six children; Gracie dying in infancy. The remaining five were present at the funeral.  Mr. Creveling departed this life December 17, 1918, after an illness of a severe nature for many years.  During the last year of his life he was confined to his bed most of the time.  Words cannot express his suffering.  He was patient and foreberaing during his last illness.  About three weeks ago he expressed his mind to his companion saying that he was going to leave her, but that he would like to live.  She asked him if he was prepared to meet his Savior.  His answer was: ” I have lived a life that I am not afraid  to die when the higher power calls me.”

He leaves to mourn their loss a wife, four sons and one daughter; Mrs. Fred martin, Carl, Ivan, Floyd and Vern Creveling, and three brothers: Eck of Osceola, Iowa; Clem of Lamoni and Theodore of Lamoni.

The funeral services were held at the home December 19, conducted by Rev. L. H. Smith of Ellston.  Interment was in the Creveling Cemetery east of Lamoni.
