Edith Barnes Tucker

Edith Barnes Tucker was born at the home of her grandfather, Rev. S. A. Elliott, in Rice Township, Ringgold County, Iowa. March 5th, 1883, where she grew to womanhood. On January 9, 1901 she was united in marriage to Henry Tucker. They made their new home in Nebraska where they have since resided. To this union were born three children, Gayl, Dan and Rhea.

Early in life she confessed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, becoming a member of the United Brethren Church in which church she retained her membership until death.

She became afflicted with Spanish Influenza December 16, which caused her death December 27, 1918. Age 35 years, nine months and twenty-two days. Besides a husband and three children she leaves to mourn their loss two sisters, Mrs. McGinnis and Mrs. Emmett Patrick, of Albia, Iowa, one half brother, Clifford Barnes, now in France and one half sister, Rhea Barnes of Van Wert, Iowa, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
