EDITH BARNES TUCKER

EDITH BARNES TUCKER WAS BORN AT THE HOME OF HER GRANDFATHER, REV. S. A. ELLIOTT, IN RICE TOWNHSHIP, RINGGOLD COUNTY, IOWA, MARCH 5, 1883, WHERE SHE GREW TO WOMANHOOD.  ON JANUARY 9, 1901, SHE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO HENRY TUCKER.  THEY MADE THEIR NEW HOME IN NEBRASKA, WHERE THEY HAVE SINCE RESIDED. TO THIS UNION WERE BORN THREE CHILDREN, GAYL, DEAN AND RHEA.

EARLY IN LIFE SHE CONFESSED HER FAITH IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE UNITED BRETHREN CHURCH IN WHICH SHE RETAINED HER MEMBERSHIP UNTIL HER DEATH.

SHE BECAME AFFLICTED WITH SPANISH INFLUENZA, DECEMBER 16, WHICH CAUSED HER DEATH DECMEMBER 27, 1918, AGE 35 YEARS, NINE MONTHS AND TWENTY–TWO DAYS, BESIDES A HUSBAND AND THREE CHILDREN SHE LEAVES TO MOURN THEIR LOSS TWO SISTERS, MRS. MCGINNIS AND MRS. EMMETT PATRICK, OF ALBIA, IOWA AND HALF BROTHER, CLIFFORD BARNES, NOW IN FRANCE AND ONE HALF SISTER, RHEA BARNES OF VAN WERT, IOWA, BESIDES A HOST OF OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS.

J.S. REDD OF SARGENT CONDUCTED THE FUNERAL SERVICE AT THE HOME AFTER WHICH INTERNMENT WAS MADE IN WEST UNION CEMETERY
