FRANCIS MARION CROPPER

FRANCIS MARION CROPPER WAS BORN ON FEBRUARY 8, 1850, IN RICHLIEU, LOGAN COUNTY, KENTUCKY, AND DIED FROM INJURIES RECEIVED FROM BEING RUN OVER BY A TRUCK, AT BRUSH, COLORADO ON FEBRUARY 1, 1924, AGE SEVENTY-FOUR YEARS AND THIRTEEN DAYS. HE WAS MARRIED TO MARY FRANCES RUSH IN KENTUCKY, JULY 11, 1875, AND IN 1883 THEY MOVED TO DELPHOS, RINGGOLD COUNTY, IOWA WHERE THEY LIVED ON THEIR OWN PLACE UNITIL DEATH OF MRS. CROPPER, FIVE YEARS AGO. FOUR YEARS AGO MR. CROPPER CAME TO BRUSH AND RESIDED HERE UNTIL HIS DEATH. FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED BY REV. CYRUS E. ALBERTSON AT THE METHODIST CHURCH ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AT TWO O’CLOCK P.M. MR. CROPPER IS SURVIVED BY TWO DAUGHTERS, MRS. ELMER DEFENBAUGH OF REDDING, IOWA AND MRS. ROY BLAUER, OF BRUSH. MR. AND MRS. DEFENBAUGH ACCOMPANIED THE BODY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON TO REDDING, IOWA, WHERE HE WAS LAID TO REST BESIDE HIS WIFE.
