James Clifford Berkey

James Clifford Berkey was born in Mount Ayr, IA., June 4, 1874, and died at Niagara Falls, N.Y., May 25, 1924.  He was graduated from the Mount Ayr high school in 1892 and later attended Drake University.  He was actively engaged with his father in business in this city for many years.  He was married to Maude Baker in 1902 and leaves his wife and two sons, Donald Keith and Richard Scott to mourn his loss; also his mother, Mrs. C. M. Berkey, and brother, Lyndon of Buffalo, N.Y., Walter E. Berkey of Humeston, IA.,  and Rodney R. Berkey of Des Moines, IA.  He was preceded in death by his father, William Stuart Berkey, and sister Ruth M. Berkey.  He united with the Christian Church at the age of twelve years and has been a devoted member all his life.  All who knew him loved him for his noble Christian character. It may indeed be said that his work will follow him.
