William Arthur Burch

William Arthur Burch, son of H.C. and M.E. Burch was born in Wright County, IA., October 8, 1882, and died in Washington Township, Ringgold County, Iowa, June 5, 1924 aged 41 years, 7 months and 27 days.  He had been a resident of Ringgold County for about thirteen years. On October 2, 1904, he was united in marriage with Flora Laurance at Livingston, TX., where he resided for six years.  Three children were born to this union, Chester, aged 16; Wiley aged 14; and Ray, aged 11.  At the age of fourteen he united with the Church of Christ at Oxford, MO., and his friends knew him as a consistent and conscientious Christian. His life was clean and in the discharge of his duties to his employers he was ever faithful. His family relationship was always pleasant and the fervent love of a husband and father was always manifest in his disposition. Besides his wife and children he is survived by his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Burch of Washington Township, one sister, Mrs. Frank Smith of Oquawka, IL.; one brother, Charles Burch of Livingston, TX. and four half-brothers, Howard, LeRoy, Delbert and Guy all of Ringgold County.  Funeral services were held at the home in Washington Township conducted by Rev. Ross Williams of the Mount Ayr Church of Christ Saturday at 2 o’clock and internment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
