Nina L. Still Mercer

Miss Nina Still, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Still, was born in Leon, IA September 28, 1892 and passed away at her home in Newton, IA., Friday evening June 13.  She was united in marriage to Willard Mercer at Newton, IA September 30, 1923 and has since made her home at that place.  She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, mother, four brothers and three sisters. David N. Still of Healdsburg, CA; James, Joe, and Roy of Newton, IA; Mrs. Albert Farnes of Broadview, MT; Mrs. Guy Bremer of Newton, IA; Mrs. Bert Ballou of Kellerton, IA and a host of friends. She has been a constant sufferer for the past six years, bearing her afflictions with a wonderful patience.  She united early in life with the Advent Christian Church at Leon but later years worked in the Christian Church.  She always fulfilled her duties and was loved by all who knew her.  She graduated from the Leon high school with the class of 1910, and was an efficient teacher in Decatur and Ringgold Counties for a number of years.  She was ready and willing to die, telling many times to friends.  The remains were taken to Leon Saturday, where funeral services were held Saturday at the Christian Church and the body was laid to rest in the Leon Cemetery.
