W.F. Warner
W.F. Warner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dexter Warner, was born March 1, 1857, in Ohio and departed this life July 7, 1924. He came to Iowa in 1866, stopping in Madison County for a short time and then coming to Ringgold County, settling on a farm in Poe Township, where he made his home until he moved to Mount Ayr thirty-one years ago, where he resided until his death. He was married to Miss Malissa Jones on July 7, 1878. To this union were born nine children, six sons and three daughters. One daughter preceded him in death. Those living are; Dexter Warner and Mrs. May Day, Holyoke, CO.; Mrs. J.A. Rogers, Winchester, WI.; Harry Warner, Ansley , NE.; Simon Warner, Bondurant, IA; Jessie, Bert, and William, of Mount Ayr. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, six sons, two daughters, twenty-five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers and a sister. The funeral was held from the home July 9 at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. T.S. Rhoades and the body was laid to rest in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
