BETTY ANN CASSIDAY ALLEN FULLERTON (MAY 1, 1854-OCTOBER 17, 1929)

BETTY ANN, DAUGHTER OF SAMPSON AND MARY ANN CASSIDAY, WAS BORN IN VAN BUREN COUNTY, NEAR TROY, IOWA, MAY 1, 1854. SHE PASSED FROM THIS LIFE TO THE LIFE BEYOND, AT HER HOME IN KELLERTON, OCTOBER 17, 1929, AGED 75 YEARS, FIVE MONTHS AND 17 DAYS. BETTY ANN GREW TO WOMANHOOD IN VAN BUREN COUNTY. SEPTEMBER 28, 1872, SHE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO NICHOLAS J. ALLEN. TO THIS UNION FOUR CHILDREN WERE BORN: ARTIE, ALVIN E., CLYDE AND MINNIE GERTRUDE SEASHOLTZ, ALL OF WHOM RESIDE IN KELLERTON EXCEPT CLYDE WHOSE HOME IS IN CRESTON, IOWA. THE FAMILY MOVED TO RINGGOLD COUNTY IN 1879 AND IN 1882 SHE UNITED WITH THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH IN RILEY CENTER, LATER TRANSFERRING HER MEMBERSHIP TO KELLERTON, WHERE SHE HAS BEEN A FAITHFUL MEMBER. HER AGE AND SICKNESS HAS PREVENTED HER FROM ATTENDING CHURCH IN LATER YEARS. MR. ALLEN PRECEDED HER IN DEATH DECEMBER 29, 1888. ON FERUARY 1, 1891, SHE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO J.R. FULLERTON. TO THIS UNION TWO CHILDREN WERE BORN: JESSIE M. LESAN, OF MOUNT AYR, AND A SON DYING IN INFANCY. SHE LEAVES TO MOURN HER LOSS, A DEVOTED AND LOVING HUSBAND, AND BESIDES HER OWN CHILDREN ALREADY NAMED, SIX STEP-CHILDREN: ROSE CONKLIN, OF HEREFORD, TX.; DELLA STROUP AND WILL FULLERTON, OF IROQUOIS, SD.; BELLE WHISTLER, MARGARET BROWN AND ARCH FULLERTON OF KELLERTON. ONE BROTHER, WILLIAM CASSIDAY OF KANSAS CITY; TWENTY-TWO GRANDCHILDREN, THIRTEEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND A HOST OF OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. BUT THEY DO NOT MOURN AS WITHOUT HOPE, FOR THE SCRIPTURE SAYS: BLESSED ARE THE DEAD WHO DIE IN THE LORD FOR THEIR WORKS DO FOLLOW THEM. THE FUNERAL WAS HELD SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT 2:30 AT THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH, REV. W. H. GRIFFIN OFFICIATING. BURIAL IN MAPLE ROW CEMETERY.
