Anna Burke Howdle

Mrs. Anna Burke Howdle, of 523 1/2 East Broadway, Long Beach, CA., died Saturday night, April 3, at Seaside Hospital in Long Beach, after a brief illness.

Mrs. Howdle was born in Mooresville, IN., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Burke and lived with her parents for several years in Mount Ayr before going to Long Beach in 1906. She was prominent in the activities of the W.C.T.U. and at the time of her death was an active member of the Second Presbyterian Church of Long Beach.

She is survived by her husband, William Charles Howdle; two brothers, Everett Burke of Los Angeles, CA. and Carroll E. Burke, of Long Beach and one sister Mrs. Mary Porter of Anaheim, CA.

Memorial services were held Friday afternoon, April 9, from the Patterson & Snively Chapel, conducted by Dr. Ewing S. Hudson. Interment was in the Sunnyside Mausoleum.
