SHARON MARIE DAVIS

On Saturday, July 4, 2020, Sharon Marie (Fugate) (White) Davis passed away at Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr, IA. Sharon was born in Beaconsfield, IA on October 24, 1939 to Haldon and LaVerne Fugate, one of three children. She grew up in Ringgold County and attended Kellerton High School. In 1958, she married Jimmie White. Two children were born of this union, Jacqueline (White) Brown and James White. The marriage ended in divorce. In 1969, Sharon married Sam Davis. One child was born of this union, Charles (Chuck) Davis. Sharon also received three stepchildren from Sam, Samuel Davis, Alisa (Davis) Payton and Ruthann (Davis) (Whelchel) Davis.
Sharon worked different jobs in her early years before receiving her LPN from Maricopa Technical College in Phoenix, AZ. She later returned to that college and received her RN. Sharon then worked as a nurse in Iowa, Missouri, Arizona and New Mexico until illness forced her to retire in 2007. She loved nursing but loved being a mother and grandmother even more. After a stroke in 2011, Sharon moved in with her son and his family for a short time before moving into Clearview Nursing Home.
Sharon is preceded in death by her father, Haldon Fugate, stepfather, Charles Northey, mother, LaVerne Northey, brother, Jerry Fugate and second husband, Sam Davis.
She is survived by her brother, James Fugate of Wisconsin, sister-in-law, Karen Fugate of Missouri, first husband, Jimmie White of Cedar Rapids, IA, her son, James White of Cedar Ripids, IA, daughter Jacqueline (husband, Tim) Brown of Galesburg, IL, son, Charles (wife, Bobbie) Davis of Mount Ayr, IA, stepson, Samuel (wife, Sokha) Davis of Des Moines IA, stepdaughter, Alisa (husband, Jerry) Payton of Des Moines and Ruthann (husband, Dick) Nichols. As well as grandchildren Amanda, Melody, Leigh (fiancee, Shelennia), Kirsten, Sean (fiancee, Nicole and daughter, Carly) and numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Per Sharon’s wishes, she will be cremated. There will be a memorial service on facebook. Watch for details on her facebook page. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the “Clearview Memorial Account” and mailed to Clearview Nursing Home, 406 Washington Street, Mount Ayr, IA 50854, with Sharon Davis written in the memo line.
