GARRY NEAL SMITH

Garry Neal Smith, son of Billy Junior and Margaret Louise (Pellman) Smith, was born April 11, 1964 in Osceola, IA. Garry grew up at Winterset and went to Winterset High School.
Garry was a jack of all trades. He wasn’t afraid to work and always kept busy. Garry worked for Bruce Hutton over the years. They did construction and painted in the summer and fur business in the winter. Garry skinned and stretched un-told numbers of furs. Over the years, Garry also worked with his dad. They cut a lot of wood together. Garry loved to tinker on and fix things. Garry never married and thought the world of his nieces and nephews.
Garry passed away on February 13, 2021. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William James and Wilma Jane (Fest) Smith, and maternal grandparents, Charles James and Mary Gladys (Bailey) Pellman; brother, Jerry Dwayne Smith; several aunts and uncles.
Survivors include his parents, Billy and Margaret Smith of Lamoni, IA; brother, Terry (Tammy) Smith, of Lake View, IA and their family, Kara (Max) Flurey, Katey (Dalton) Thorpe, William Smith, Wyatt Smith; brother, Larry (Patti) Smith of Eagleville, MO and their family, Ethan (Mariah) Smith, Emma (Raph) Coulthard, Eli (Megan) Smith; sister, Melissa Smith of Lamoni, IA; great nieces and nephews, Wesley, Abigail, Emry, Payton, Wynnie, Gwenn, Ean, Alison, Declyn, Everly; aunts and uncles, Charles (Paula) Pellman, David Pellman, Shirley (Dennis) Smith; cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of life was at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, IA.
Special songs were “Let it Be” by the Beatles and “Go Rest High On That Mountain” by Vince Gill.
Casketbearers were Larry Smith, Terry Smith, Ethan Smith, Eli Smith, Kara Flurey, Emma Coulthard, Katey Thorpe, William Smith and Wyatt Smith.
Honorary casketbearers were Wesley Smith, Abigail Smith, Emry Smith, Payton Coulthard, Wynnie Coultard, Gwenn Smith, Ean Smith, Alison Smith, Declyn Thorpe and Everly Thorpe.
Burial was the Trinity Hills Cemetery in Decatur, IA.
Memorial fund to the family to be decided.
