WANDA LYDDON SOBOTKA

Wanda Lyddon Sobotka, 76 of Glade Valley, formerly of Hickory, NC passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Alleghany Memorial Hospital.
Born in Council Bluff, IA, on May 4, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Donald Wayne and Mary Melissa Smith Lyddon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis Sturm, a sister, Joan Christensen, and step daughter, Sheila Silver.
She is survived by her husband James “Jim” Sobotka of the home; daughter, Kim Jones, and husband, Curtis, of Hickory, NC; sons, Robert Sturm, and wife, Tiana, of Sammamish, WA and, Brian Sturm, of Sammamish, WA; step son, Mike Sobotka, of Shelton, WA; grandchildren, Nicole Baldwin, and husband, Chris, of Hickory, NC, Lindsay Lampert, and husband, Matt, of Greensboro, NC, Stuart Jones, of Hickory, NC, and Miles Jones, and fiancé, Cheyenne, of Hickory, NC; great grandchildren, Levi Baldwin and Watson Jones, both of Hickory, NC; and her sisters, Shirley Miller, and husband, Bill, of Corning, IA; Trudy Speaks, and husband, Wes, of Shelton, WA and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service were held at 11:00 a.m, Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at First Advent Christian Church in Hickory, NC with Rev. Dr. John Roller officiating.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Bohemian Cemetery near Diagonal, IA with Pastor Bill Armstrong officiating.
A memorial fund has been established in her name to be decided.
Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr is in charge of the local arrangements.
