JEFFREY WADE COLLIER

Jeffrey Wade Collier, son of Wayne and Alberta (Ruckman) Collier, was born September 16, 1963 in Mount Ayr, IA.
Jeff grew up and attended school in Mount Ayr. Jeff served his country for eight years in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany. After his discharge, Jeff worked several years as an electrician. He was a journeyman and belonged to Local #347. Jeff worked in Kansas City, Des Moines, and Pella. Upon returning to, and living the remainder of his life in Mount Ayr, Jeff worked for Jeff French in the snow removal and lawn care business. He also worked for Ken Markley mowing yards and businesses. Jeff was close to the crew at Rumors Bar and Grill. He enjoyed morning coffee and visiting throughout the day with the crew and customers. He would help them on occasions and loved “fried chicken Fridays!” Jeff didn’t have kids of his own but his dogs were like family to him. TK and Fancy were his kids.
Jeff was a proud American and was patriotic. He loved country music and watching sports on TV. Jeff and his brother, Mark, would talk on the phone while watching games on TV…acting like they were sitting together as it happened! Jeff had a big heart, would help anyone in need; and was very grateful for his friends that helped him in his recent battle with cancer.
Jeff passed away on May 15, 2021. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Denzil Ruckman and Bessie Faye Bucknell, Roy and Lela Collier; parents, Bud and Bert Collier; sister, Shelley Bolles.
