DORIS LOUISE TODD

Doris Louise Todd was born March 25, 1930, in Overland Park, KS to Albert and Ila (Brown) Martin. Doris was later joined by brothers, Bob and Howard Martin, and a sister, Mary Martin Harris.
Doris married Lyle Raymond Todd on May 28, 1950. Lyle and Doris rented farms in many places over the years. To this marriage, three children were born: Albert Raymond Todd, Roger Dean Todd and Lois (Todd) Ibbotson.
Doris started working at Sunny Slope Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide around 1970. She continued working at the Mount Ayr Health Care Center when the new nursing home was built. Doris worked at Clearview Home and at the Ringgold County Hospital in the kitchen until a brain aneurysm slowed her down. Doris also cleaned houses and helped care for the elderly in their homes.
Music was a joy for Doris, and you could usually find her humming a tune. Doris enjoyed being a part of the Tingley Kitchen Band.
Doris became a resident of Clearview Home and she passed away there on October 21, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyle; brother, Bob Martin, and wife, Verna, and sister-in-law, Shirley Martin; all of Lyle’s brothers and their wives and Lyle’s sisters and their husbands.
Those left to cherish Doris’s memory include her children, Albert Raymond (Jodie) Todd, Lois (Al) Ibbotson, Roger (Jeanette) Todd; grandchildren, Pamela (Walter) Brokaw, Christina (Jeremy) Sobotka, Jacob Todd, Stephanie Cole; great grandchildren, Treyton and Hayden Still, Kendall and Rhett Sobotka, Aydan and Landyn Brokaw, Brycen Todd, K’Brynn and Keyston Cole; brother, Howard Martin; sister, Mary (Jim) Harris; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, IA.
Officiating was Pastor Bill Armstrong.
Vocalist was Al Ibbotson.
Songs were “He Touched Me”, “Amazing Grace” and “Supermarket Flowers” – Ed Sheeran.
Casketbearers were Jeremy Sobotka, Walter Brokaw, Treyton Still, Lance Norman, Steve Clark and Andy Clark.
Honorary Pallbearers were Hayden Still, Kendall Sobotka and Rhett Sobotka.
Burial was at the Tingley Cemetery in Tingley, IA.
