Susan Angus, 73, of Cedar Rapids; formerly of the Mount Ayr / Creston areas, died Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at her home. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2022 at the Powers Funeral Home 601 New York Avenue in Creston. Pastor Tim Maxa will officiate. The Service will be live streamed on a link under events at Private burial will be at a later date. Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, before the service. Suzi (Domoracki) Angus, daughter of Ralph Domoracki and Joyce (Palmer) Domoracki, was born on September 14, 1948 in Milwaukee, WI. She graduated from Madison High School in Madison, SD. Susan studied for one year at General Beadle State College in South Dakota before attending Northern State College in Aberdeen, SD where she graduated with a BA in Education.
On July 26, 1976, Suzi married Gerald “Gary” Botkin in Madison, SD. They settled and worked in the Prescott/Stringtown, IA area. Suzi taught special education in Corning, before they started a family. Together they had two children, Natasha and Nicholas. After her children were in school, she taught with Corning, Creston and later fulltime with Orient-Macksburg schools. Suzi and Gary divorced in 1991.
On June 24, 1995, Suzi married Warren Angus in Mount Ayr, IA. They settled in Mount Ayr, where Suzi taught special education until retiring in 2007. Warren and Suzi divorced in 2005. Suzi moved to Cedar Rapids with her daughter in 2007.
Suzi was formerly a member with the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston and in later years, she attended the Baptist Church in Mount Ayr.
Survivors include her daughter, Tasha Botkin, of Cedar Rapids and son, Nick (Renee) Botkin, of Papillion, NE; three grandchildren, Janessa and Rhea Botkin and Brodee Heistand; a brother, Michael (Karen) Domoracki. of Seymour, WI; a sister, Linda (Rod) Beck of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and other extended family.
Suzi was preceded in death by her parents.

    I knew Suzi when I was growing up in Madison. I did not know her well, but I liked her.
