Raiderettes tie for second at Chet Roed Relays

MOUNT AYR, Iowa — In a crowded field at the Chet Roed Relays, the Raiderettes scored 130 point to tie for second along with Creston last Tuesday at the home meet in Mount Ayr. The Raiderettes were only five points behind Wayne for the top spot. Other Pride of Iowa Conference teams at the meet were Central Decatur, East Union, Southwest ZValley, Lenox and SE Warren.
The Raiderettes were led by six event wins at the meet.  Mount Ayr won the shot put and high jump and four relays, the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400-meter and sprint medley relay events.
Aubree Shields won the high jump with a top jump of 5-feet, 2-inches and Emily Knox won the shot put with a top throw of 35-feet, 6.5-inches.
Other top-5 finishes in the field events were Adley Dredge placing fourth in the discus and Payton Worthington placing third in the shot put.
Addison Doolittle had three top-5 finishes in individual events. Doolittle was the runner-up in the 3,000-meter run in 12:08.64. She added a third place finish in the 400-meter dash and a fourth place finish in the 1,500-meter run. Tatum Friedrich also was the runner-up in the 400-meter dash in the time of 1:05.40. In relays, the Raiderettes added a runner-up finish in the 4×800-meter and a third-place finish in the distance medley.
