MOUNT AYR, Iowa — The Raiderettes track and field team picked up a third place finish last Thursday as they hosted the Dave Still Mark Larsen co-ed Relays.
Mount Ayr scored 94 points to place third behind meet champion Interstate 35 with 135 points and meet runner-up Wayne with a score of 125. Mount Ayr was led by four event wins.
In the shot put, Emily Knox won with a top throw of 35-feet, 6.5-inches. Emma Reynolds won the 200-meter dash in 26.12. In the 100-meter hurdles, Aubree Shields won in a new meet record time of 15.47. Shields also won the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:05.24. That time was for a new meet record and No. 2 all-time in Mount Ayr girls track program history.
Mount Ayr had one relay event win with its distance medley relay team of Chloe Robb, Shields, Reynolds and Tate Friedrich in a time of 4:16.95.
Ashlyn Byer was the runner-up in the 800-meter run in 2:43.90. Three Raiderettes had fifth place finishes with Adley Dredge in the discus, Ava England in the 400-meter dash and Brittlyn Nickle in the 100-meter dash.
The Raiderettes will run at the state qualifying meet in Leon on Thursday.
